For all my new followers out there, if you didn't know now you know, I am a born and raised Utahn. Salt Lake is my city and I'm dang proud of it. A few of my favorite cities in the United States include New York City and San Fransisco so Salt Lake City is nothing in comparison, but it's my little city and I love it.
Utah has a lot of stereotypes, some true, bust most completely wrong. In my opinion, Utah is 100% underrated. We have amazing mountains that hold beautiful foliage in the fall months and our slopes are covered by the greatest snow on earth in the winter. We might have lower alcohol content in our beer and most places aren't open on Sundays, but we've got some gems. Here are 5 of my favorite things and must dos when visiting Salt Lake City:
1. Take a trip to City Creek Center.
Hands down the best shopping in Utah by far. Choose from high end store like Tiffany and Co, Michael Kors and Free People or H&M, Cotton On and Madewell. It also has a natural creek running right through the middle. It's a must see!
2. Choose from 842572958 gorgeous hikes.
I can choose from about 5 hikes just 15 minutes away from where I live. We are surrounded by mountains, and I wouldn't want it any other way.
3. Temple Square lights during Christmas.
Hot chocolate and numb toes make this Christmas spectacular a December tradition!
4. Visit a national or state park.
We've got Zions, Arches and Bryce Canyon just a few hours from each other. Embrace the red rock and crazy views with one of our national or state parks!
5. Try out a winter sport at one of our ski resorts.
They don't call us the state with the greatest snow on earth for nothing, I am not a huge winter sports type of gal, but I'll just say this... Justin Bieber shares a house with T Swift in Park City and they hit the slopes quite a bit. If that's not motivation enough, I don't know what is.
Like I said, downtown Salt Lake City is one of my fave spots in all of Utah and where I spend most of my time taking my blog pics, stopping in local coffee shops and eating at the best restaurants. Check out my looks from Z Supply that are perfect for weekends spent in the city:
